About "Dinosaur Science"

This blog is intended to be a clearinghouse for news about the latest discoveries in dinosaur science. I will occasionally include a few of my own posts, but much of this blog consists of dinosuar-related inks to other blogs, websites and news sources. These links update automatically and regularly, so don't forget to bookmark this site or just check back often to read the latest dinosaur news.

Dinosaur art and artists

"Cruising T. rex"
A work in progress by Patrick Norton
Artists are at least as influential as paleontologists when it comes to helping the public understand how living dinosaurs may have looked and behaved. The best dinosaur artists are not only technically excellent sculptors and/or painters, they are also students of dinosaur science who incorporate the latest discoveries into their work.
Links to a few of the top dinosaur artists working today are provided below.
Brian Franczak (no website currently available)
Click here to view an excellent audiovisual presentation by Dr. Tom Holtz, a dinosaur paleontologist, discussing how classic dinosaur art reveals our changing view of dinosaurs over time. A wonderful interactive presentation, sponsored by National Geographic Magazine.
And Michon Scott shows us more historical illustrations of dinosaurs, going as far back as the 4th century.
